- No Alcohol at our Wedding?
My future husband and I don't drink except for when we go out to dinner and it's usually a sangria or something fruity. We want to have a dry wedding, no alcohol. His family is against alcohol and his father was an alcoholic before he was born. I'm happy with the idea but I'm afraid my guests won't be. My family are big drinkers but there's also tension in the family (my parents recently divorced) I'm afraid any alcohol will just turn my wedding into an episode of Jersey Shore!! *cringe* We we're having a backyard, rustic-vintage style wedding, old soda (in bottles) root beer floats, sparkling cider and grape juice, sweet tea. We also live on a farm and we thought it would be cute to serve our cow's milk in old fashion milk bottles during desert. Our menu is basically a bbq, burgers, hot dogs, macaroni salad, fries that sorta thing. Do I have enough to make up for the alcohol? I'm happy with our idea, I'm just afraid our guests won't be. I know it's my day but if my guests aren't happy, I won't be.

- Rustic/country wedding ideas?
I am doing a country/rustic themed wedding. I've got a lot of the stuff picked out and we just have to order it, but i'm wanting some more decor ideas. The wedding/reception is going to be about 6:30 with the reception starting around 7 and going untill around 9 or 10. The BM are wearing sundresses and either cowboy boots or flats. i'm wearing a floor length dress with cowboy boots that have aqua accents ours invites are being made on etsy to go with our theme but still have an elegant feel to them The guys i'm trying to convince to wear wranglers, a nice shirt and either nice shoes or cowboy boots. I"m stuck on how to do the centerpices though. I want all the centerpieces to have lighting on them so it will be easier to see, but i'm stuck on how to do it. I don't want the tradional floating candles or anything like that. I want it country/rustic but still fun and easy to see.

- Black Tie Wedding - Need Good Decor Ideas?
So I have fired my event planner. This posting isn't a rant about how much she has screwed me over, but the point is that while I'm trying to find someone else to coordinate the little decor details for our wedding in the last 8 weeks, I am trying to find good ideas online for inspiration. All the big stuff is taken care of, but we just need the little things to be taken care of. The problem is though...I can't seem to find any black tie style websites with good photos of other brides wedding reception decor. When I google "black tie" I come across what appears to be formal... Truly I am not trying to sound like I have my nose in there air with that, since I know that an online question without hearing my voice and tone behind it could be interpreted the wrong way. But honestly I am so frustrated. All the blogs and sites I have found through are very vintagey and DIY in nature. While this is a very charming and lovely new trend with weddings...it is the complete opposite of what our wedding will look like. I'm not trying to put down any brides who are going for that rustic, vintage style, but I just want to find a website or a few good sources that can show reception decor and details for very elegant events that are truly black tie. Can anyone please help me out?
